I believe good design, like life, is all about balance. There are two key components that must always exist in harmony: function and aesthetics. If something looks good, but doesn't work, it fails. If something works, but looks awful, no one will pay it enough attention for its purpose to be achieved.
I have a simple motto that I strive to achieve in every design:
"Artwork that works."
